PMYP, Tourism Advisor Join Hands to Boost AJ&K Tourism

Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) met with Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the newly appointed National Advisor on Tourism.

They discuss key areas related to tourism development, national progress, and the growing importance of tourism in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K), with a special emphasis on the role of youth in these sectors.

During the meeting, the two leaders held an insightful exchange on the evolving dynamics of national politics, the untapped potential of Pakistan’s tourism industry, and the vital role youth can play in advancing sustainable and eco-friendly tourism, particularly in AJ&K, one of the country’s most naturally endowed regions.
Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan expressed PMYP’s commitment to opening new avenues for youth employment and entrepreneurship through tourism and hospitality training initiatives. He emphasized that showcasing Kashmir’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and adventure tourism could serve as a significant catalyst for economic growth and national unity.

Youth-Led Tourism to Boost AJ&K and Pakistan’s Global Image

Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan shared his vision for revitalizing Pakistan’s tourism sector, stressing the importance of public-private partnerships, robust infrastructure development, and youth-led tourism startups.

He appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in empowering young Pakistanis and pledged his full support in enhancing collaboration between the tourism and youth sectors.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to closely collaborate for the advancement of youth opportunities within the tourism domain, and for the strategic promotion of Pakistan especially Azad Kashmir (AJ&K) as a premier tourism destination at both national and international levels.
